It helps to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened.
My workouts aren't syncing between devices. Open Profile → Sync & Backup. If it says "On this iPhone only", the line underneath explains why — usually you're not signed in to iCloud, or iCloud Drive is turned off in Settings. The app works fully either way; it just won't sync.
How do I back up my data? Profile → Sync & Backup → Save Backup exports everything as a JSON file you keep. iCloud syncs deletions too, so a backup is the copy that survives a mistake.
How do I delete my data? Delete the app to remove it from your device. To also clear the synced copy, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → GymBuddi → Delete Data.
GymBuddi stores the information you enter so it can show it back to you:
On your device. All of the above is written to a database on your iPhone.
In your private iCloud, if iCloud is available. When you are signed in to iCloud, GymBuddi mirrors that same data to the private database of its iCloud container, so it is available on your other devices and survives replacing your phone.
This is Apple's CloudKit private database. It lives in your personal iCloud account, it counts against your iCloud storage, and it is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer of GymBuddi cannot read, query, export or delete anything in it. No part of your data is ever sent to the developer or to anyone else.
You can see which mode the app is in at any time under Profile → Sync & Backup. If iCloud is unavailable the app works exactly the same, just without syncing.
If you allow notifications, GymBuddi uses them only to tell you when a rest timer has finished. These are scheduled and delivered locally by your iPhone. No notification is ever sent from a server, and declining them leaves every other feature working.
The app also uses silent background notifications from Apple as part of iCloud syncing. These carry no content and exist only to tell the app that your own data changed on another device.
Profile → Sync & Backup can export your data as a JSON file. That file is produced on your device and goes wherever you choose to save it. The developer never receives a copy. Anyone you share the file with can read its contents, so treat it as you would any personal document.
Deleting GymBuddi from your iPhone removes the copy stored on that device.
To also remove the synced copy from your iCloud account, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → GymBuddi → Delete Data. This is permanent, and because the developer has no access to your data, it cannot be recovered for you afterwards.
GymBuddi is a general-purpose fitness log. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated date above. Material changes that affect how your data is handled will be described in the app's release notes.
